What kinds of volunteer opportunities are available at Teen Challenge Saskatchewan?

Teen Challenge Saskatchewan has need of volunteers to work in landscaping and building maintenance.

Is it possible for a large group to volunteer?

Yes! Business groups and church groups have generously donated their time and energy volunteering at Teen Challenge Saskatchewan. Large groups are able to complete big tasks quickly such as landscaping or painting a building. Corporate and church groups tell us that volunteering as a group is a great way to build relationships as they work together on something outside of the office or church. Everyone benefits and we’re certainly grateful for all the help.

Do volunteers undergo a screening process?

Yes. Teen Challenge staff reserves the right to screen volunteer applicants to ensure the well-being, protection and privacy of our students. We ask all interested volunteer applicants to contact Teen Challenge Saskatchewan in advance.

Is it possible for someone to volunteer after hours?

At the present time, Teen Challenge Saskatchewan does not have need of evening volunteers.

I only need 20 hours of community service for school. Can I fulfill this requirement at Teen Challenge?

Yes!

I have been ordered by a court to do community service. Can I fulfill this requirement at Teen Challenge?

No. We do not accept volunteers doing court-ordered service.

If I am younger 18, do I need my parents to sign the application?

Yes. If you are under 18, your parent(s) or legal guardian(s) must sign the application.

Who should I list as references?

You may list teachers, friends, neighbours, members of church or social groups you belong to, or anyone who can provide a reference to your character and suitability as a volunteer in working with individuals in a diverse setting. Do NOT list relatives.
